Atma, in its essence, refers to one’s inner self, spirit or soul, at the deepest level of an individual’s existence. My work is inspired by my journey of self-inquiry throughout the pandemic. The subject appears to be pulled towards the darkness, perhaps feeling constrained and stifled, yet also facing the light, in repose with eyes closed in a soft smile, simultaneously and paradoxically feeling tranquillity and gratitude. Interpretation of my work may vastly differ depending on your perspective. You are invited to relate to your own experiences in facing significant uncertainties, and to pose the question, what becomes possible if our perceptions are shifted?
